To busy to plan? Me too. Except: you have to. You just have to, you can't avoid it with any sort of project of any size.

So learn to love it. Remember that the great thing about Project Management is that it makes you think comprehensively about your project.

It stops you from just rushing off into an uncontrolled project, with all its opportunities for cost overruns and time scale slippage and feature creep.

Of course, the great disadvantage of Project Management is that it makes you think comprehensively about your project! It's a big investment, and many project management techniques can be heavy on the documentation.

But that's where knowing where to skimp comes in handy.
