Men's Counselling in Leeds, Bradford, and West Yorkshire
Men are notoriously bad at asking for help; thankfully this is changing. As men open up and start to share their doubts, fears and problems, some common themes appear:
- feeling alone with problems: the 'masks' we are encouraged to hide behind, to appear in control and sorted, become more like prisons. Amazing how many men feel the same, but can’t share because everyone else seems so 'sorted'
- anger often appears from confusing feelings of dissatisfaction: at your partner, your kids, road-rage or life-rage
- feeling depressed: low energy, unmotivated, just not enjoying life
- stressed and unappreciated work problems: too much of it, underemployed, unemployed, or fearing redundancy
- relationship problems: it's getting harder to communicate with your partner, sex not what it was, drifting apart
- parenthood: problems with the kids? Fathers and sons, dads and daughters, or coping with a new baby
- recently separated or divorced, even if it's something you wanted, experiencing the power of grief for the loss of your family
- thoughts of ending your life may come from feeling lost, trapped, no way out, no one to turn to
